Deoghar: The Tour Continues

Till now, I had discussed the basic point of Deoghar, round which complete Deoghar revolves. But there are so many tourists places, in here. Lets take them one by one.

1. Nandan Pahad: This is a hill on the other side, 2.5Kms from the Baba BaidyaNath Temple, well known for its nice cool air, a beautiful park on the top of hill for children and family to enjoy, a series of temple at the top for worship, in which the Ram Temple is supposed to be made on the foot prints of Lord Rama, and a lake in which you can have the pleasure of enjoying boating. Its a very nice tourists spot, which is always filled with tourists all over the world, especially on the winter days of Nov, Dec, January.

2. Trikuti Pahad: This is also famous ti\ourist spot in Deoghar, especially for those who like climbing up the mountain. Its height is somewhat around 4-5000 feet, in which you've stairs only upto 1000 feet, the rest to be covered by passing through the rocks, under the strict guidance of a guide, which you'd find at the stairs of the hill. It's main attaraction is the river flowing opposite to it, which can be viewed after reaching the top of the mountain. It is a cluster of three hills, namely Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma Hills, so called Trikuti Hill. At around 500 feet, you'd find some temples, and one temple made like a cave, which is really fantastic to watch, then you've a fine water flowing between the rocks, coming from top of the hills, the source still unknown, which provides very sweet water, which solves all the gastric problems, and skin problem of the body. You'll find a lot of monkeys there, which will be feeded by you. It is a nice sight for all tourist. It's just a year, when the ropeway had been started here. And most importantly, we'd an ashram of a Lady Guru Ma, who resides there at the 1000 feet always. This place provides real peace to your mind.

The rest will be described in next few blogs.

Deoghar: The Home Of Gods

Deoghar, from the name its clear its the home of Gods, lies in the Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand, is about 229 km from Patna (capital of Bihar) and 322 km from Ranchi (capital of Jharkhand) and about 315 km from Kolkata (capital of West Bengal). It's a great place for tourists attraction for its historical importance.

In Deoghar, lies the Grand Temple of Baba Baidyanath which is one of the twelve maha jytir-shivlings across the world , thats why Deoghar is also name as Baba Baidyanathdham. In Shravan, people comes from across the world to offer Gangajal brought from Uttarwahini Ganga in Sultanganj(105 Km away). People comes in numbers, walking barefooted taking Gangajal in their hand, travel 105kms with so much ease, due to their faith in God and offers the Jal at end to Lord Shiva.

According to legend, Ravana had done tapp for so many years to please Lord Shiva. After the tap, he asked him to provide his jyotirling to him, which he'd establish in Lanka. But the Gods didn't want this to happen. On his way back, he felt to get down for the urination( since Ganga maa went inside him), but the shivling can't be kept down, so he searched for someone, and found Baiju( who was secretly Lord Ganesha) and told him to keep it, and threatened him not to keep it down. As he left, Baiju seeking the opportunity put the Shivling down, and went back. Ravan did urination for a long time, by which a lake was made, which we called Shiv Ganga. After coming from there, when he saw the shivling down, he tried to take it up, but was not possdble. So, he hit shivling hard, which was there in the shivling for all those years. But now a reconstruction is made over it, to avoid any leg contact of the pilgrims. Vishwakarma made all the temple in the whole night. And thats how Baba Baidhyanath temple came.

This is a real great temple to watch, to feel the internal peace, which everyone is trying to find today.
